Magic: The Gathering Winter Beginner Camp

Common Ground Games' Magic: the Gathering Winter Camps make the perfect holiday gift for your child!

About this experience

These one-day camps (one for veterans and one for beginners) provide campers with many of the gaming supplies they need to organize and care for their collections, lessons and strategies targeted to their experience level, and of course plenty of chances to crack open packs and play Magic with fresh, new cards!

Gamers of all levels are welcome to either camp! If your family's holiday schedule prevents your child from attending the camp that best matches their experience level, no problem! Camps are for kids ages 9 to 16.

The Beginner Camp (Friday, December 27) is best for kids who have never played Magic or who have just started to play. Campers will learn how to play a game from start to finish, how to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and common abilities of each Magic color and how to use this knowledge to their advantage, and how to build a balanced, functional deck from scratch. Campers will receive:

Foundations Beginner Box
6x Foundations Play Boosters for a sealed event
Deck boxes and sleeves
Dice BCW 1600ct storage box
Pizza!

Camps are $175 for a day of fun and Magic (campers will receive nearly that much in retail value of cards and supplies), including a complimentary pizza lunch (Please put in the notes if there are any allergies to be aware of. Lunch will be at 1pm). Campers who must leave early will still receive all the goodies!

Camps meet from 11:30am to 6pm.

This Holiday Magic Camp will be led by certified Level 2 Magic: the Gathering Judge John Trout. In addition to more than a decade of judging experience, John has also sponsored a Magic: the Gathering Club at Lakehill Preparatory School for the past 21 years, where he is currently a Middle School teacher and the Head of Lower School.
